Carole Foster

Carole Foster was born and raised in Wangaratta, Victoria. From an early age she showed a flair for drawing and painting. Foster continued to establish herself as an artist and travelled extensively, living at various times in New Zealand, Norfolk Island, England and Germany. These countries provided a base from which to travel and collect information for painting.

In recent times, she has travelled extensively in the United States and South America, creating a new inspiration for her works. She returned to New York to participate in International Art Expo in February 2003. Originally a realist artist painting in oils, Foster progressed through watercolour and pastel on to acrylics with the use of mixed media in some of her work. Many of her works have been inspired and influenced by the Australian Outback.

Each year she travels to various locations in Central Australia, Northern Territory and the north of Western Australia. Carole has developed a modern abstract impressionistic style with anything from high energy vibrant pieces to works of a quiet peaceful nature. The arid zones evoke the most emotion in her work. Foster has participated in many exhibitions over the last twenty years and has had 17 solo exhibitions in Melbourne, Canberra and Perth. Her work has also been exhibited in the Qantas Club lounges throughout Australia.

Foster’s work was exhibited by Paintbox Fine Art at the Affordable Art Fair London and Art Ireland in Dublin. Her work was also shown at Paintbox London and Art Sydney.
