Peter O’Dwyer
Peter O’Dwyer was born in Albury.
At 12 years of age, he entered the Sun Youth Art Show and was ‘inspired’ upon receiving a ‘commendation’ for his work.
At the age of 15 Peter’s math teacher at the time was impressed with his lifelike plaster and wire sculpture more so than his math effort. He introduced Peter to Andor Mesaros, a well-known sculptor/artist, who lived nearby. He was inspired by Mr. Mesaros’ words of encouragement: ‘what ever you see that you like, draw it’.
In a general sense Peter O’Dwyers work is concerned with personal reflection and life experiences, expressing outwardly through his diverse creative expression. It is not preconceived, it happens, inspired by human form inviting the viewer to respond and connect.
